Apple Crunch

What is Apple Crunch?

Celebrated during National Apple Month, Apple Crunch promotes healthy snacking. The event encourages youth and families to eat apples, and apple products (applesauce, juice, and cider) as a healthy snack.

Celebration ideas include featuring apples and apple recipes during school breakfast and lunch; apple tastings; visit to local orchards and farm markets; classroom activities and lessons focusing on apples; and storybook readings of "Johnny Appleseed".

Help encourage youth and their families to snack healthy by celebrating Apple Crunch on Wednesday, October 27, 2010.
