In addition to being in school or being at home with family and friends, children spend a great deal of time participating in community activities – faith-based, recreation programs, youth-serving organizations, volunteer endeavors, etc.

The time spent participating in these activities, is yet another avenue where a healthy living message (eating well and being physically active) can be reinforced.

nrgBalance has created a number of programs, events and initiatives that easily be adapted to meet the needs of community-based programs that engage youth.

“The Collection Connection 4-H Club had a great time celebrating Go for the Greens. They brought healthy and nutritious "green" foods to share; made spinach and mushroom pizza as a snack; and even shared their health lesson with the local food pantry by collecting canned vegetables for a donation.”
